True or False - その3

Japanese people are addicted to soy sauce.

醤油がなかったらSOS!

The answer is...

True!

Gimme gimme soy sauce!!!!!

So what you see in the picture is a plate of strawberries and pineapples ready to be dipped in soy goodness.

Okay..this fruit dipped in soy sauce thing may just be my family's tradition, but it's true that Japanese people put soy sauce on almost anything.

Here is a list of some weirder food Japanese people put soy sauce on:

- Curry
- Meat sauce pasta
- Potato salad/mash potato
- Fried chicken
- Raw egg (another thing about Japanese people..we
like to mix raw egg into a bowl of rice..and
of course, drench it with soy sauce!)

Some Japanese desserts use soy sauce too.

Therefore, I conclude with one last cheer for soy sauce.

SOY SAUCE BANZAI !!

True or False - その2

Japanese people use chopsticks for everything!

おはし最高!

The answer is...

True!

I've seen Japanese people eating Western and Italian food with chopsticks several times. I do it too!

I guess it's because we don't want our hands to get dirty when we're eating? I don't know..but it's much easier for me to eat pasta with my awesome chopsticks than using a fork.

Heck, I once picked up a nasty bug with my chopsticks.

Why didn't I use tissue to pick up the bug?

Heck no! I don't want to feel that tingly bug feet through the tissue! I'd rather squeeze it dead with my fantastic chopsticks. That way, I don't feel it, and I can still pick it up and throw it away. (and also throw the chopsticks away..but these minor details aren't important..)

Therefore, chopsticks are awwwshum and we use it for everything.

True or False (T/F) - その 1

うそ・ほんと?

The most predominant Japanese food is SUSHI.

日本食と言えばお寿司!

The answer is...

False!  presented by Cliché Ninja

Don’t get me wrong. Japanese people looovvvveeee sushi. We just don’t eat it or make it as much as you think we do. Eating sushi in Japan is treated more like a special occasion. We go out for sushi more so than making sushi at home.

Why? Making sushi at home is pretty time consuming and it’s one of those dishes where it’s probably cheaper to eat out in the end.

That said, do I like sushi? Naw…I’m weird. I’m one of those rare Japanese whose genes refused to derive pleasure from eating raw fish.

I felt like an outcast due to this, but sushi is expensive..my parents were happy I didn’t like it.

Then what is the most predominant food in Japan?

Simply put, RICE.

We eat rice almost all the time. I start to get withdrawal symptoms when I don’t eat rice for 2 days. We usually eat rice with some other food, but regardless of what that food is, it will come with rice.
